Cooking Demo 1: “Flavors of the World, Featuring Italy and India”

Featuring Spices of Italy and India

Featuring Spices of Italy and India

This was my first cooking demonstration ever!!!  In this class, we used many favorite spices from both Italy and India to make some delicious Sauces and Chutneys to use many times over for a variety of dishes; these can be stored in the fridge for up to one week!  We learned how to fill and fold an Indian Samosa..make a Meat or Potato Filling for the Samosa..and incorporate Ginger and Cardamom, two favorite Indian Spices, into our dessert!!!  It was a fun-filled class, and everyone left home with a bit of Italian and Indian in them.;)

Lemon Basil Dipping Sauce and Green Cilantro Chutney (Demo Part 1)

This is the first part (of three) of my very first cooking demonstration ever!!  The cooking class, “Flavors of the World, featuring Italy and India” was for a Women’s Enrichment Night through church; I am so appreciative and thankful to all the women that helped and participated to make my  day!!!:)

How to Fill and Fold a Samosa (Demo Part 2)

This is the second part (of three) of my first cooking demonstration.  Here, I show how to fill and fold an Indian Samosa!  I practiced this technique by making 53 Meat Samosas in advance as taste samples for the class.  That process took me about three plus hours!!!  Hopefully, everyone there left the class able to fill and fold their own Samosa with the Potato Filling I had prepared in advance.  After the demo, I manned the frying station and fried up the Potato Samosas each participant filled and folded on their own.  Many took home their tasty treats to show off their newly honed skills to family members.:)

How to Make Samosa Meat or Potato Filling and Cardamom Ice Cream (Demo Part 3)

Finally, this is part three (of three) of my first cooking demonstration.  Here, I show what spices we use to make the meat or potato filling of a Samosa.  At the end, I show my technique for crushing spices such as cardamom; at the demo, all participants crushed their own cardamom to make a Cardamom Ice Cream.  We had that with the Ginger Brookies that I baked earlier.  All in all, it was a fun-filled culinary experience for everyone, I hope.;)  If you enjoyed this post and my videos, please subscribe to my blog with your email address, so you can get notifications of my future posts and recipes.  I will be posting the recipe for Meat Samosa Filling soon!!!
